Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez, US policies, and Latin America
Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting: By Tres Mali Scott
President Chavez’s hostility toward journalist makes me pray that he does not get paranoid, since he puts TV stations out of business and does not allow media that “he” criticized for involvement in the opposition movement against him.
The problem is international, the US has the highest rate among industrialized countries of individuals “living with AIDS” (Scott, 2008). The better health care the longer individuals live (Scott, 2008).
The Amazonian jungles are located in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, which is bordering to Brazil and considered Latin America. President Hugo Chavez is a left-wing former army officer. As President, he has survived since 1998. Help the world survive!!!!!
Socialism is not American, it does not allow improvement. I pray that Hugo Chavez finds ways to include improvement, education, medical treatment, and employment opportunities. Much of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela lives in poverty. “Sex tourism” comes from deeply divided and largely impoverished areas (Scott, 2008).
President Chavez has the ability financially to assist in reducing the AIDS problem. Other countries do have different the values that the USA has, I hope values “human life” as much as he does the world’s largest oil deposits, large quantities of coal, iron ore, bauxite, gold, petroleum, steel, chemicals, agricultural products, and basic manufactures which are his main exports (BBC, 2008).
The USA sees President Chavez as a security threat, being hostile toward journalist tells about treatment of people. The BBC News Reports his leadership is Cuban-style, a major concern!
